Lesson Description
Leadership of ministries to children requires competence, skill, and spiritual wisdom. Our role requires us to serve children in the present, consider the preferred future for them and our ministries, and develop strategies for attaining our ministry goals. We serve families, support pastors, and equip teams. We also steward financial resources, ministry spaces, and the talents or our people.
There are many reasons why it is essential for children’s ministers to grow as leaders. Leadership competence provides children’s ministries with opportunities to model and teach spiritual truths, lead their ministries and congregation more effectively, and broaden their skills and abilities. In this lesson, we will consider the biblical foundations for leadership, review secular and biblical leadership styles, consider the role of the Holy Spirit in our leadership preparation, and consider the core responsibilities of the children’s ministry leader.
